About Me

1. Education

I did my engineering from Fr. Agnel’s Institute and MBA from S.P.Jain Inst of Mgmt. I hail from a simple – middle class background, where in we are taught to work throughout our life for others. Likewise I took the first job which I got from campus and joined Onida. I stayed there for 3 and a half years, undoubtedly the best company for which I worked for and also found my better half there. I subsequently worked with Eureka Forbes , Kodak , IFB and Thomson in the next 3 and a half years.

2. Company Startup

Yes…so total of 7 years post MBA, I quit the job and started a manpower recruitment firm – Career Avenues (I) Pvt Ltd with 2 members. The dream was beginning to take shape. The biggest step was to take the plunge (action) of leaving a well paying ‘secured’ job for an uncertain future. Knowingly taking the step is much better than being forced into it. After the initial hiccups ,life started getting normal and better, but every day threw lot of challenges, some which we were able to catch and some we dropped. We used to get mandates and do recruitments for most of the fmcg, consumer durables, life insurance and banking companies across functions like sales, marketing, accounts, finance, HR, supply chain etc and grew our team over a period of time to around 325 employees across 26 locations all over India.

3. Team Building


Creating our team was fun. The process of attracting people for what we are, what we were capable of doing, made our task interesting. We have always recruited employees for attitude rather than skill and it paid for us well. Many of our employees stayed with us and took the company ahead. We also learnt a lot from those who left us and started their own or joined competition. We would not have grown, had they not left us. They made us more determined , and ensured we set the processes and systems in place so that any exit doesn’t cause pain and anguish.

4. Taking Right Decision

After 15 years of running the business smoothly, we also faced many challenges like economy not conducive, business opportunities getting limited, terms and conditions being squeezed by clients, lucrative offers to our employees from corporates , mandates from companies not getting a closure, candidates taking offers but not joining at the last minute etc .

At this juncture, choice was to scale down and keep on doing what you have been always doing or try to learn something NEW and move out of the comfort zone. Here I chose the latter.

5. Learning New

This got me to the world of personal development and realised that self education is the biggest learning. For the next 3 years, I gave myself to all the learned coaches across the globe, imbibing whatever they were teaching , their methodology and the results which followed . I had also joined a networking organisation BNI, which radically changed my perspective towards small business owners and started inspiring and motivating some of my colleagues, not realising that it is leading me to a different line of direction.

6. Guiding Entrepreneurs

What the mind can conceive, the body can achieve it.

After 18 years of successfully running the recruitment business, ticking many boxes , the mission to help those who have a dream of starting on their own ,but do not know how – started to fill my mind. It is as if I have found a new, stronger purpose which makes me get up every day early and raring – to serve people to get the focus they need , to win at their business and succeed at life.
